After an intense workout at B/SPOKE, most days, we head to work or home and eat our regular everyday meals. But the weekends bring a freedom that we all must take advantage of…time. With no work in sight, brunch has become a popular staple in the culture of mid day dining. From fresh squeezed juicy cocktails to decadent and savory entrees, we all look forward to our weekend brunch dates. We know that when you workout hard on the bike, you deserve to indulge once in awhile, so we wanted to share with you some of our favorite spots near the studio.
Bostonia Public House
Broad Street FIDI, 8min walk
Hands down a favorite amongst staff, Bostonia offers a great atmosphere with live music, a huge bar and large tables that allow the many options of dishes to fit nicely as you chat about the ghosts of evening past. Their bloody bar is self serve and bottomless, while the drink menu boasts everything from the “Bromosa” to the “Hair of the Dog” shot. Their brunch menu is limited on Saturday, but fully loaded on Sunday with favorites such as the “Short Rib Benedict” or the “Mushroom Fritatta.” Not feeling breakfast? Aly claims the BPH burger to be one of the best in the city.
Bastille
Fort Point, 12min walk
Known for its vibe-y lounge scene, Bastille launched a Sunday brunch that rivals your mom’s homemade pancakes. Think “Bacon Pecan Caramel French Toast” and “Pork Belly Croque Madame,” this French infused brunch will leave your sweet tooth satisfied for days. They also offer a range of small plates with healthier options such as fruit, smoothies or a cheese platter. The drink menu is excellent with the “Bastille 75” being our favorite.
North Street Grille
North End, 15min walk
The selection here is amazing (read: 18 types of pancakes) and the portions are shareable. With a spiked hot chocolate that leaves you buzzin’ all afternoon, their line can be pretty outrageous. Try to hit them later in the morning so that you can have an easy sunday, rather than a line-induced hangry one!
Worden Hall
South Boston, 25min walk OR 1 stop on the T (6min)
Worth the trip on the MBTA, Worden Hall is an open lively restaurant in the newly “bougie” center at the top of Southie. Just across the street from the Broadway T stop, Worden Hall boasts a plethora of mouth watering favorites on it’s menu. Choose from the “House Smoked Pastrami Hash” or the “Bacon Apple Chedder Croque.” Feeling more traditional? The “Biscuits and Red Pepper Sausage Gravy” has your name on it. The made to order bloodies come in vodka and bourbon, while their mimosa’s are large or larger. We also love the Broadway Brew (cold brew, guinness, irish whiskey and cream).
