If you’ve ever taken a morning class at B/SPOKE within the last year, you’ve probably been greeted by Erin. This multi-talented early bird is also quite the song-bird, and her musical tastes range from Beethoven to Blackstreet. Read on to learn more about this hard-working human and make sure you give her a high five next time you see her tightening some pedal cranks in the studio!

Where are you from?
Aurora, CO

How did you get into cycling?
My dad is an avid cyclist and he helped me get a job at a bike shop when I was in high school.  I loved learning about the bikes and ended up staying there long enough to eventually work my way up to mechanic level.   In college, I started trying out spin classes once an injury prevented me from running.

What drew you to B/SPOKE?
I was working at another fitness studio when my roommate told me about B/SPOKE and how incredible her experience was. I tried it out for myself and basically applied the next day. The studio had such a great energy and I immediately knew I wanted to be a part of it.

What do you do when you are not working at B/SPOKE?
I nanny a two year old girl and also sing opera. I set a lot of time aside to practice and rehearse, and if I’m not with her or singing, I’m sleeping because la voce needs très rest.

Who / What inspires you?
My friends. Musicians are some of the most dedicated and driven people and they motivate and inspire me daily.

Who / What are you listening to?
Lots of opera… *NERD*. But if not opera, 90’s R&B is usually my go-to.

What are you reading right now?
Lots of children’s books since I’m a nanny. There are actually some REALLY great stories out there! Adults are missing out. But when I do get some time to myself, I’ve been reading on and off “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck” and I love it.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
Across the pond (in Germany, probably), starting my career.

What is a fun fact about you?
I have two degrees in music: both a Bachelor and Master of Music – Vocal Performance.

Any hidden talent?
I can whistle just about ANYTHING. Harry Potter might just be my favorite.

What is your go-to get-psyched song?
Coming Undone by Korn or anything Shakira….HA.

Favorite Boston spot?
Night Shift Brewery. Great beer + dogs everywhere = Happy Erin
