There’s no better way to kick off the summer season than to spend a weekend seeing our favorite artists live at Boston Calling. We take our music pretty seriously at B/SPOKE, and Boston Calling is a perfect place for us to gather some playlist inspiration for our classes. From May 25th-27th, you’ll find a lot of our team at the Harvard Athletic Complex soaking up the sun, sampling foods from the festival’s huge food lineup, and listening to great live music.

Big names at Boston Calling this year include Eminem, The Killers, Tyler the Creator, Khalid, Paramore, and so many more. They also introduced a series of comedians and other experiences last year, and this year’s includes a film festival curated by Natalie Portman. We can’t wait for the opportunity to see some of our favorite artists live and be introduced to new music that we can use in our classes!

The music is obviously the main attraction, but this year’s food lineup is the biggest that Boston Calling has ever seen. A ton of local favorites will be there, including Area Four, El Pelon, FoMu, Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, The Smoke Shop, Zinneken’s, and more. There will even be edible raw cookie dough from the insanely popular Cookie DŌ, a NYC hotspot that we can’t wait to try.

If you’ve been to Boston Calling before, you know that the days are almost as long as the lines. Our tips? Bring sunscreen, but also be prepared for rain – you never know what the Boston weather will bring. Bring a portable charger so you won’t have to worry about missing any photo ops and bring a water bottle so you won’t have to wait in the long beverage lines to buy a bottle! Above all, wear comfortable shoes – being on your feet all day is exhausting, especially in the wrong shoes.

We can’t wait for Boston Calling, and we hope to see you there! Be sure to let your instructors know if you go and have any playlist inspo to offer!
